Snapper Rocks is a surf spot at the southern end of the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, close to the border with New South Wales at Coolangatta. Waves wrap around the rocks near Point Danger and run to the right as a surfer rides them towards the shore, into Rainbow Bay and on towards Greenmount and Kirra. Sand pumped across the mouth of the Tweed River over many years is generally credited with building a long sandbank here, known as the Superbank, and on rare occasions a single wave is reported to have been ridden along it for a very long distance. The most consistent surf typically comes in the warmer months, often from around January to April, when tropical cyclones in the Coral Sea can send swell towards the coast.
